About the SER Group
The SER Group began its journey with the ambition to create a sustainable future through IT recycling and resource recovery in the electronics sector. We then expanded into the battery industry with the launch of Cellcycle – now the UK’s largest independent lithium battery recycling company.
As we built on this expertise, it became clear that addressing sustainability in the battery sector required more than end-of-life recycling alone. By moving further up the lifecycle, we developed services to support the storage, logistics, and ongoing management of batteries in use. From this, Cellstorage was established – providing specialist facilities and knowledge that ensure safety, compliance, and continuity throughout the battery supply chain.
Cellstorage
Cellstorage was founded on the SER Group’s proven expertise in managing lithium batteries in their most critical states. This foundation enables us to safely store and manage batteries at all stages, including new, used and end-of-life.
In close collaboration with Cellcycle, we ensure each asset is maintained and prepared in full compliance, supporting safety, reliability and supply chain resilience across industries.
Cellcycle
Cellcycle leads the SER Group’s lithium-ion battery recycling efforts through its bio-based LithiumCycle™ process. Using naturally occurring bacteria to extract critical materials like lithium, nickel and cobalt, it offers a sustainable alternative to traditional recycling.
In partnership with Cellstorage, Cellcycle ensures end-of-life batteries are safely transitioned from storage to recovery, supporting the UK’s clean energy goals and advancing the circular battery economy.
SE Recycling
SE Recycling is the SER Group's dedicated division for IT asset disposal and electronic waste management. It specialises in the secure collection, certified data destruction and sustainable recycling of IT equipment, including computers, laptops, and mobile devices.
Fully compliant with WEEE and GDPR regulations, SE Recycling helps businesses reduce e-waste, protect sensitive data, and promote reuse through responsible processing and recovery practices.

Cellstorage was established to address critical gaps in the lithium battery supply chain. For energy storage providers and automotive OEMs importing battery assets from overseas, managing delivery schedules, transport risks, and technical integration can be both complex and costly.
When these processes are fragmented, delays and inefficiencies can quickly follow, creating added pressure on project timelines and budgets. Cellstorage was created to provide a more streamlined and reliable solution, helping businesses improve control, visibility, and confidence across the supply chain.
